At the end of the nineteen-eighties, Demac among the first companies to introduce central compressed air supply. One or more centrally installed compressors supply the snowmakers with compressed air. This solution comes with various operational as well as economic advantages.
Contrary to conventional systems with mit on-board compressors, this solution results in electricity savings of up to 10%. Also, maintenance work at the snowmakers is limited to cleaning of the nozzles and nucleators, throughout the system to proper maintenance of only one compressor.
The system architecture featuring a central air supply is also more environment-friendly, as the hazard of oil leaks is eliminated.
